I am a DB2 database expert specializing in DB2 on Linux, Unix, and Windows. I was hired by IBM 14 years ago and trained in supporting DB2. I quickly progressed and moved to the Advanced Support team after only a couple years. In this role I resolved escalations and critical down systems worldwide. I've worked on everything from development databases to 240 node DPF systems and some of the largest supercomputers in the world. This experience allows me to solve any DB2 issue quickly and easily.

The past eight years I have been the lead database administrator for a multi-billion dollar financial services and healthcare company. In this role I've been able to shape the direction of our data strategy and especially drive the automation. A few of my favorite projects:

• Chose and implemented a new backup vendor that has drastically reduced the number of failed backups
• Wrote and implemented backup and audit reporting
• Wrote automation to identify (and sometimes automatically fix) non-standard configurations

In addition to database, I have a wide range of skills that I bring to each assignment. I spent a few years as a Cisco network administrator, so have a very solid understanding of networking. I've been a Linux enthusiast and user for 18 years, so I've seen many different kinds of issues. My bachelors degree is in Management of Information Systems, so I also have formal business training.
