I'm the person you bring in to decide what to build, then build it. Six years in the Bay Area from early startups to Zynga and brightwheel, and since then running architecture and delivery for clients here.
Most of my work falls into three buckets:
Technical direction. You have a budget, a deadline and five opinions about the stack. I scope it, pick the architecture, tell you what to cut, and own the plan. Fractional CTO work for founders without one, and architecture review for teams who have one but want a second read before committing.
AI & automation. LLM agents, RAG over private data, workflow automation, API integrations. Recent example: a finance system that pulls from banking APIs, categorizes every transaction, and produces P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. Reconciles to the accountant's books to the penny across 4,300+ transactions and runs unattended daily.
Build. React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node, Python, Postgres, Supabase, AWS on the web side. React Native, Swift and Kotlin on mobile — I built the app for a VC-backed company now valued over $300m, and apps that have ranked top 20 in their categories.
I also take rescues: inherited codebases, stalled projects, "it works but it's slow", and code review before you commit to a direction.
How I work: give me the goal and the constraints and I'll run with it. No hand-holding, no status theater. And I'll tell you when something is a bad idea before you pay to build it.
