Brand & Growth Builder-Operator | GTM, Positioning, Demand
I build brands, growth strategies, and marketing systems that move businesses forward.
I have been doing it for 25 years, and I still love the work.
I am a Brand & Growth Builder-Operator who works at the moments when businesses need to become something more.
I have helped launch companies, reposition brands, create categories, scale growth engines, navigate rebrands and acquisitions, support PE-backed transformation, and build the marketing systems required for the next stage of growth.
I have worked alongside founders, executive teams, investors, and operators to define the opportunity, sharpen the position, build the strategy, and execute what comes next.
My edge is not that I “know marketing.”
My edge is that I can see the business, find the story, define the strategy, and build the system required to make it real.
That can mean clarifying a market position that is not landing. Rebuilding a GTM strategy. Creating demand where there is only activity. Fixing a fragmented funnel. Reframing a business after acquisition. Building the narrative for a rebrand. Connecting brand and performance. Or helping leadership understand what marketing actually needs to become at the next stage.
I am strategic enough to sit with a founder, CEO, or board and define where the business needs to go.
I am hands-on enough to get inside the work and build it.
That combination matters.
Because strategy without execution becomes a deck.
Execution without strategy becomes noise.
What I do best:
• Brand positioning and narrative
• Go-to-market strategy
• Demand generation and pipeline
• Rebrands and repositioning
• Growth strategy and commercialization
• Content and thought leadership systems
• Funnel architecture and conversion
• Lifecycle, CRM, retention, and monetization
• Campaign strategy and creative direction
• PR, partnerships, and market visibility
• Marketing teams, systems, analytics, and operations
A few examples:
Fashion GPS | Fashion Tech / SaaS Worked as a founding marketing partner to help shape the brand, positioning, market adoption, partnerships, and growth of a platform that became an industry standard across global fashion weeks before its merger into Launchmetrics.
Jody G. earns an estimated $5.6k/mo. That's 3.8× the typical freelancer and more than 99.6% of everyone we track.
NYDJ | Brand Creation / Growth / Exit
Helped build the company from concept through national retail expansion and an approximately $150M private equity exit. The work included naming, positioning, product story, category creation, PR, retail strategy, and consumer marketing.
ePlanSoft | SaaS / GovTech
Rebuilt positioning and full-funnel marketing for a highly technical SaaS platform, connecting brand, content, SEO, paid acquisition, thought leadership, trade shows, and lead generation.
STEPS | Mobile App / Wellness
Built GTM, messaging, paid acquisition, creative testing, funnel architecture, analytics, and retention systems from pre-launch through scale.
I have spent my career helping businesses navigate consequential growth moments, from launch and scale to rebrands, acquisitions, PE-backed transformation, category creation, and market expansion. The industry may change, but the questions rarely do:
What do we stand for? Why should the market care? Where is the growth opportunity? And what needs to be built to capture it?
That is the work I love.
I also use AI extensively across research, strategy, audience analysis, content systems, testing, repurposing, and discovery.
But I do not use it as a substitute for judgment.
AI should make strong thinking more powerful, not make original thinking optional.
I am not interested in producing more marketing for the sake of producing more marketing.
I want to understand what matters, what is getting in the way, what the market is missing, what the business could become, and what we need to build to get there.
If you need someone to execute a checklist, I may be more horsepower than you need.
If you need someone who can see the whole business, define the opportunity, build the strategy, and roll up her sleeves to execute it, we should talk.
Find what matters. Make people care. Build what comes next.
