Most technical problems aren’t purely technical. They’re clarity problems. The system is complex, the stakeholders are misaligned, and nobody has a clean picture of how things actually work or why they were built that way. That’s where I do my best work.

I’m a senior systems and business architect with 30 years of hands-on experience across fintech, defense, healthcare, and enterprise platforms. I’ve spent my career stepping into complicated, real-world environments — messy data, multiple systems, unclear workflows — figuring out how things actually work, and putting structure in place so organizations can move forward with confidence.

That work typically includes clarifying how data flows, defining system boundaries, and identifying where automation actually adds value (and where it doesn’t). The goal isn’t just to build something that works — it’s to build something that holds up over time.

Recent work includes leading the technical direction of an AI-enabled mission planning platform for the U.S. Air Force and designing distributed trading systems handling high-volume real-time operations. I’ve also authored eight professional courses on software development and architecture for Pluralsight, which means translating complex systems into something a real audience can understand and use is something I’ve done deliberately, not accidentally.

I operate through Midwest Agentic, a technical strategy and workflow automation firm focused on helping growing businesses build systems that scale.

I’m most effective when the problem is ambiguous, the stakeholders are misaligned, and the path forward hasn’t been clearly defined. That’s not a difficult situation to me. It’s the situation I’m built for.
