How I transform a Dynamics environment

1. Stabilize the core. I implement, upgrade, customize or recover Business Central, NAV, D365 CRM, F&O and AX so the data is clean and the processes are sound.
2. Connect it. I build integrations using APIs, Power Automate, Azure Functions, OData, SSIS and web services. Examples are Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, eBay, 3PL Central, ShipStation, Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero, DocuSign, SigningHub and HubSpot.
3. Expose it to AI safely. I set up MCP servers for Business Central, Dataverse, Sales and F&O. By default, Business Central’s MCP server gives agents read-only access, and write actions must be configured explicitly. I use that to keep agent permissions minimal.[learn.microsoft]
4. Ground the agents. I build RAG pipelines over Business Central, Dataverse and SharePoint knowledge. Agents are built in Microsoft Foundry or Copilot Studio.
5. Operate and govern. I add human approval checkpoints, security roles, monitoring and long-term support.
